Since we were in Dayton for Easter and driving home that Sunday we didn't really have a chance to celebrate Easter. Even though Eric work that Saturday we were ready to have our own Easter egg hunt on April 12th after church.
I was able to make up everyone's Easter basket that week, which was kinda nice because I was able to get the candy at a better price ;) I also able to get all the candy in the eggs as well so all we needed to do was hide them.
Because they were getting candy in the eggs their Easter baskets had more of non food items. Papa was able to come down over the weekend and was happy to help hide the Easter items for the kids. While I had started getting things ready for our Easter dinner Papa and Eric went and hid the baskets and eggs.
It was a beautiful day and the kids were pretty excited to go find their stuff. After they found their basket, we put their things in a box and let them use their baskets to put the eggs in. The boys were instructed to leave the easy to find eggs for Olivia. Papa did a nice job hiding the eggs and was able to hide a few tricky ones for the boys.
Livvy picked up a few that were hidden in the grass and the garden beds. Then she got curious and sat down and was able to pop one open. To her delight she found there were M&M's inside! That was the end of find the eggs for her. Now she figured she could just sit and eat and let the boys fill up her basket ; ) And when the boys did put down their basket she would try and run off and giggle with it to get more candy without having to find anymore eggs ; )
Even though Papa had a long drive and would lose an hour going back to Ohio he was able to stay and have our Easter feast. We always have a spiral ham for Easter and it was delicious! This Easter the stores had all kinds of flavored milk for the holiday. Since we knew Papa was going to come we picked him up some Easter eggnog for make milkshakes. For Easter we topped it off with a marshmallow peep : )
