Halloween 2014

With Halloween being on a Friday this year, it was a little more relaxed because I didn't have to worry about the boys having school the next day so we were able to have a fun night.
I am a theme meal type of person, and over the years I have had some fun menus. This year for halloween I had some repeats and some new items.
One of the new things I did was make my own tortilla chips, which was a lot of fun. I just used halloween cookie cutters and made fun shapes which was perfect for the dip!
I had the old favorite of the mummy hotdogs which were a fun favorite for Olivia. For dessert we had graveyard brownies, which Thomas had fun help making the chocolate skeleton pieces and crumbling the some of the brownie pieces to go on top.
With everything going on we didn't have a chance to get Livvy a costume or to make one but she was happy to wear her leopard print coat. Both the boys wanted to be ninja turtles, which was much easier to buy then make. This way they could be their favorite turtle and had fun getting their bucket of candy.

Fun with spaghetti

It always fun and pretty messy when you let your kids start feeding themselves. This little girl loves her spaghetti.
It might look like she is just playing with it, but she does get the majority of it into her mouth. Despite her little size she has actually become my best eater!

Fall Family Fun

This year a few weeks before Halloween we wanted to take the kids to a farm and have some fun. After looking around we decided to go with one near Louisville.
It turned out to be a decent day and there were a lot of fun activities for the kids to do. The boys were excited to get out of the house and do some different things outside. This has been the first time that we took the kids to something like this, so they seemed to have a lot of fun.
They had three different corn mazes that were divided up into difficulty. With having the boys we went with the easy. We each had a card with different punches we had to find throughout the maze. We all took turns being the leader and following the map to find all the punches.
They also had a small hay maze that the boys did many times. They did pretty well and if course did it into a race to see who could do it the fastest.

One of the biggest attractions was this tube slide. I am not sure how long it was but both Thomas and Sup enjoyed going down the slide. Livvy liked to watch them coming from the bottom :)
After playing around with the mazes and the slides we took a hay ride over to see the animals on the farm. Sup probably liked looking at the animals the most. We were also able to see a pig race as well, which we all enjoyed.
Thomas wasn't a very good sport for this picture as he was "sooo" hungry, so he's pouting in the bottom pumpkin. After the picture Eric took the boys to get something to eat and LIvvy and I went back to the car so she could eat too. With the exception of getting grumpy because of hunger, we all had a lot of fun!

Snake

So you would think when you live in the city the likelihood of running into a big snake would be pretty slim…. Last fall when I was walking the boys back from the bus stop Thomas noticed this big long snake just at the edge on our drive in the neighbors lawn.
The boys were all excited and thought it was really cool. Myself and the neighbor mom I was walking with did not. She was just happy Thomas noticed it before she decided to walk through her lawn. This was a job for Daddy. So I made Eric get up and take care of it.

Thomas's 3rd soccer season

Thomas has been doing soccer now since he was in first grade. He has been doing both fall soccer and spring soccer. He has had a really good time with it and seems to enjoy both the game and his team mates.
It has been fun to see how his knowledge of the game and his skills at moving the ball have improved with just a few seasons.
What is nice about this league is the couches are good about having all the boys play at different positions. So he's had an opportunity to play offense, defense and goalie. This year they also had a middle position.
Great job Thomas on a great season!
