Falling rocks

We had a bit of a rain storm the other night. It was sunny so the boys were playing outside then it got dark pretty quick and started to rain. I told the boys to come in but they wanted to "run in the rain, it's so fun!" I let them run around a little longer and the rain started to come down really hard and told them to come in again and got, "just a little longer mommy". After a few more minutes it started to hail. Thomas then started yelling, "rocks are falling! Hurry Sup lets get inside" And they came running in pretty fast. Then sat at the door watching in amazement, watching the rocks fall from the sky.

After the storm passed, I was making dinner and Thomas got really excited and wanted me to "come see the pretty rainbow!" They both loved it and sat looking at the window until it faded.

Yard games

We finally had a dry morning and afternoon! The boys were so happy to be out of the house and to be able to have some fun outside. They found some games in the garage and enjoyed playing with each other.

They found the croquet set first.

Thomas had the most fun with the lacrosse, he did really well with it!
Sup had more fun with the croquet set.

Like my boots

Thomas is having a hard time being stuck in the house. It has been been raining here for over a week so he has been trying new things to occupy is time. He found the shoe pile and decided to try a few on... he liked my boots the best.

Just like Daddy

Yesterday morning the boys were so excited that Daddy would be home for the whole day, so they could play and have lots of fun with him. Well they found Eric's hats and coat and dressed so they "could be just like Daddy!" So both boys are getting ready to go to work. After they were all "dressed" they got daddy's keys and wallet and were, "off to work mommy, love you, bye bye" Thomas tells us.

About 3 minutes later they were back from work! And made a lot of money.... they came back with 83 cents....and it "should be enough to get us through the day".

There were lots of smiles as they were "playing Daddy"

Let them eat cake!

So I thought for Easter it would be fun to make a bunny cake. It didn't turn out too bad and the boys loved it! They didn't care about the few mistakes as long as they could eat it and it tasted good :)

Who needs a fork and a plate when you have a mouth! Silly boys :)

Sup didn't think he could wait any longer for his plate and fork, that part of the ear was his and he wanted to make his claim!

Will the rain end mommy???

We have a lot of rain these last few days. It has been raining since Wednesday. We have a rain gauge and we looked at it today and we have had about 6 inches. These poor boys have been stuck in the house since Wednesday and set here on the back of the couch waiting for the rain to stop.

This morning we did have a little break from the rain so I let them out. Of course our driveway is a small lake and that was the "best place to play!" according to Thomas :)

Yes they are still in there jammies, I figured if they were going to get wet changing them once would be a better idea.

And yes that is Thomas in is Halloween pj's... he loves them because he thinks he is a scary monster and they glow in the dark.

Cleaning Toilets

Okay so I came across little story and it made me giggle so I thought I would share.

A husband asks his wife, "You never argue when I get mad at you. How do you alway control your anger"

"I clean the toilet" she replies.

"How does that help?" he asks.

 " I use your toothbrush."

I would state the author but it didn't say.

Happy Easter

Gramma sent these cute suits for the boys to wear for Easter Sunday. I think they made them look pretty cute!
I hope everyone has a great Easter to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Learning the hard way....

Poor Thomas has had a hard couple days. He has had to learn some lessons the hard way, it seems that we all have at some point in our lives.

Lesson: When mommy says don't touch, it's hot...trust mommy, it's hot.I got a rotisserie oven a few months back and we have some very yummy meals with it. Thomas loves the rotisserie chickens so we have one about once a month. Although I keep it on the counter Thomas likes to scoot the chair up to the counter and watch the chicken cook and spin. Well he wanted the chicken to hurry and cook so he could eat his BIG chicken. He has been really good just looking at it but he decided to test the waters yesterday..... he touched the glass that gets pretty hot, result a small white bump on his finger along with crying and screaming. Funny kid though he was so mad at the "bad chicken" for burning him, to get back at it he was going to EAT IT! Amazingly he ate probably more then he ever has!

Cutting the grass

Well it is that time of year has started when the grass is long enough to mow. Eric got his our lawn mower out and he was followed by our two helpers :)

Yes folks that is our lawn mower, the old 50 style. We bought it last year because we do not have a big yard. So we thought we can save on the price of the mower as well as not having to worry about gas (which is an outrageous price) and oil. Also to be a little more green and a little more exercise :)

Boys, bugs, and smiles

So I walked out the front door and I hear " Whoa look at that! Thomas where is your net? Lets go find it!" As I turn around and look at the door frame I see what was so interesting... a big dragonfly. Eric caught the bug and put it in the little bug house and the boys loved looking at it. Don't worry we let it go after a few minutes :)

Thomas was pretty proud of his catch.

Sup loved it when it started fly!

It was a pretty big one!

Slippers

So yesterday it was 80 degrees here in Evansville. Somehow my boys didn't think that was too warm to put on slippers. Sup insisted he needed to wear them and then Thomas felt he needed to join him. Now that it is warm they want to wear them but when it was winter I couldn't get them to wear them, what can I say??

Lets dance

When I clean I usually clean with music, so I put on my itunes and start on my daily and endless task of cleaning the house. Soon I hear "Come on Sup lets dance!" (Thomas had a hard time saying Phillip when he was born and has called him Sup). So I peek into the family room and find my two little boys dancing.

We were getting dressed, got distracted, then forgot, therefore Sup just in his diaper and Thomas in is undies, pj top, and apron (he likes to help mommy cook).

Our little helper

So Eric and I have been working on updating our family room. When we bought our house it was very nice to have this extra space in the back of the house but it had this awful paneling for the walls. So we made this room our first project. After we put up the drywall there was the fun of mudding all the seams and screw holes and then sanding it--- not a fun job. So one morning I walked into the room and found this..

I hope as he grows up he will still want to jump in and help!

Perfection

So Thomas really wanted to play a game last night, his game of choice was Candy Land.... of course I could not find it. So our next option was Perfection. He was really excited to try it out. I showed him how the play and he was actually really good at finding the shapes on the board. Then of course his time was up and it popped up on him. Very angry at the board and yelling at it because " I WAS NOT DONE YET!"

So I had to help him out for a few rounds. Then once again I let him try it again on his own and Phillip of course wanted to come and "help". They actually played pretty well together until Phillip started taking out the pieces that Thomas had put in and then it popped again. This time instead of yelling at it he bought me over the board and said, " Mommy I need a different game, this one is too tricky."

Joining the blog world

After much debate I decided to join the world of blogging! I will try to post often so I hope everyone will enjoy the stories and pics. I am sure my boys will make it fun and intresting :)
