First library card

With Thomas being half way done with second grade his reading skills have really improved, and he is starting to look at reading as a fun thing to do. Before it was something I was making him do you know making his life harder and making him learn ;)
He had been wanting a library card of his own so over Christmas break we had the time to go over to the library and get him his very own library card. He thought this was a pretty fun adventure and was pretty happy to be responsible for his own card and books.
After we got him all signed up and his card, we headed over to the children's book section and I let him take his time one which book he wanted to check out. With no surprises he picked some Marvel books and dinosaur books :)

Fun girly toys

For obvious reasons this year Olivia received some fun girly toys. It is nice to have some of these finally around the house ;)
She was able to get some really fun things from family at Christmas. A couple of them were these Disney princesses that ride on little horses and they "ride" down the ramps of the castles. She got quite a few horses and two castle toys to play with them on.
At first the boys were complaining that they now had these girly toys but after watching and helping Livvy with the horses they started to enjoy playing with them as well. They would still not admit they like to play with Livvy's girly toys and they do end up turning it into some kind of battle shooting adventure/game.
By the end Livvy had moved on to something else because the boys actually took over her toys. I am sure both of the boys would love this picture…. notice there is no little sister hanging around ;)

Trying out the bikes

Our News Years Eve was pretty laid back this year. That morning Eric went and got his wisdom teeth pulled. We were invited to a friends party at church so I was able to take the kids over or a couple of hours to help give Daddy some quiet.
On New Years Day the weather was not too bad and the boys wanted to they out their new bikes. Eric was doing pretty well so he came out for a few mins as well. Aunt Sara also got them some new bike helmets for Christmas as well so they were able to strap them on and ride up and down the road a few times.
All in all they did pretty well. Thomas was use to the bike and only seemed to get stick and needed a push a few times. Sup did end up hitting a bump in the road just right and fell. There were some tears but with the long pants and the coat there was not scraps or bruises.

Christmas 2014

Christmas last year was actually a pretty rough Christmas. The last day that the kids were in school Sup came home saying he wasn't feeling well. Later that night he got sick. We were planning on driving up to Michigan this year so I was hoping it was a quick moving virus.
A day or two later Thomas got hit with it. I was really hoping that they would be the only ones who got it as we were planning on leaving early Wednesday morning. By Tuesday afternoon Livvy started to get pretty sick. When I decided to take her into the urgent care that evening I got sick. At that point I wasn't sure when we were going to leave if we were able to. After taking Livvy in and being told it was a viral thing and she would get better in a few days, we decided to see what the morning had in store.
At this point all Livvy was interested in was nursing and with me being sick as well I was hoping it would actually help her out as well. The boys and Eric were doing well and Livvy and I were at least not puking so we headed out late morning. We got in late evening and I was doing better but Livvy had a hard night.
Christmas morning Eric got sick so he was able to stay in bed while we went and visited my Gramma and came back to my parents house. That night Livvy still was having a hard time and she had started to run a fever, so the day after Christmas we headed over to our in-laws for a blessing and then went to the Peds ER. After spending pretty much the whole day in the ER with test, we again were told she had a viral thing and to watch her. Not the news we wanted but we were both wiped out from our illness and she was still not looking good and throwing up at least once a day. Hence with all of this going on I didn't get any pictures of us while we were in Michigan.
We left for home to celebrate our Christmas and prepare for Eric to get his wisdom teeth out on New Years Eve. We got in late and the next day we did our Christmas at home. Livvy was still not doing well and was not interested in her Christmas stuff at all.
The boys were able to enjoy all parts of their Christmas both in Michigan and at home. They seemed to really bounce back quick and had it early enough were they had a good experience. They really enjoyed everything they got and were able to play and enjoy them throughout their Christmas break.
I was able to get her into her doctor and He was able to diagnose her witan upper respiratory infection thankfully! After starting on her medicine we saw her energy level and her disposition improve dramatically. We were so happy to have our sweet Livvy back.
The boys love to have sleepovers in the family room, and they got new sleeping bags from Gramma and Papa so they decided to have a sleepover night during Christmas break. This way they could test our their new bags. So with some snacks and a movie they had a fun night.

Daddy's little helper

For Christmas this year Eric and I wanted to get the boys some new bikes. This was going to be their big gift. After looking around we were able to get two new boy bikes for them.
Eric wanted to get some that were in the boxes so that he cold put them together. This way we knew that they would be put together right.
When the boys were at school Eric was able to get both bikes assembled. This was a lot of fun for his new little helper. Livvy wanted to be right there and help put the bikes together too. I think both of them had a fun time with one another.

Bed head

This little girl can have some pretty funny hair at any time of the day. But when she wakes up for the day we need to find her brush after breakfast ;)
Who would have thought that an 11 month old could have such fun hair!
I found myself already looking for the de-tangler so we can brush her hair a little easier, and so far it seems to work pretty well :)
We love our sweet little girl :)

My little climber

Since this little girl learned how to crawl, she slap started learning how to climb.
She was not really interested in learning how to walk, but give her a box or something on the floor and she was ready to tackle it.
Since Christmas was only a few weeks aways we were getting quite a few packages in the mail so Olivia was having a lot of fun climbing all over them.
She would get quite proud of herself when she was able to get on top of the box, so I was able to get a good smile :)

Thanksgiving 2014

We always have a good time around Thanksgiving. We have family that come to visit and Eric has a long weekend and we have some fun times and good memories.
This year was no exception. Thanksgiving Day is a day full of lots of yummy food. We had a few new items this year, which I think went over well for the most part.
We are pretty much cooking all day, and we have a lot of yummy appetizers available to keep people happy while the rest of the dinner is bong made. This year we tried this carmel dip and looked pretty cute as well as tasted good.
I think each year we get better and better at timing and getting most of the food ready at the time we project.  I think their year was best we have done. Dinner was yummy and we all enjoyed eating and visiting :)
This was Miss Olivia's first Thanksgiving! With her birthday being at the beginning of the year she was really able to enjoy most of the foods.  So she was a pretty happy camper :)

Thanksgiving play

Every year at our school the all the kindergartners put on a Thanksgiving play. This year it was sup's turn to participate in the play.
This year they had two performance and we were able to get in for the first one. Each class has everyone that would have been involved in the first Thanksgiving. Sup was had a chance to play one of the pilgrims.
Livvy had a fun time watching him and he was pretty excited to have us there to watch him :)

Poor Sup

A week before Halloween sup had gone to the dentist and had some news that his back teeth were in pretty bad shape. At the end of the appointment the pediatric dentist need to pull two of his teeth and put crowns on two of them and then put spacers in for the missing teeth. He wanted to get this done as soon as possible so we set up an appointment for the following week and sent us home with antibiotics to help the infection he had in his teeth.
At this time he wasn't in pain and seemed fine. We started the antibiotics right away and besides me going through the guilt of not getting to the dentist sooner and having to have his go through this, Sup was doing good up until the day after Halloween. On Saturday he woke up and was in a lot of pain and his right side of his face had really become swollen just over night. With it being a Saturday I wasn't sure if I could get a hold of his dentist, but I called the office and luckily they had an emergency service. To my relief he called back pretty quick and was able to call him in a stronger antibiotic and some pain medicine and gave me instructions on watching his swelling.
After getting him started on the new antibiotic which was not easy to get him to do because of the taste, I also felt he needed a blessing. I called our friend and home teacher and he was able to come over and help Eric give him a blessing. With the blessing and the medicine by early afternoon his swelling had gone down dramatically and he wasn't in any more pain.
On Tuesday he got the teeth on his right side taken care of and the following Tuesday he got the left side taken care of. It was a rough couple of weeks for him and me, having him watch him go through this and he was a pretty tough kid. Because we wanted to get the procedures done as soon as possible he wasn't able to be put out in the office for his procedures. Even with light sedation he was aware of what was going on. He was one of the kids, which I figured when they told me, that didn't seem to affect him much. And by the second time going in had a few issues kicking and biting both the dentist and his assistant. Thankfully everything went well (well besides the kicking and biting part) and everything healed within a few days and Eric and I were both happy that Sup was back to his normal self.
