Curtains finished!

So after almost after many months, I can't remember when we started the boy's room last year. I was finally able to get their curtains done.
I had made a goal to get all my unfinished projects done before the end of the year. It was a good goal but somethings took me longer then I anticipated so I didn't around to these until the of January. But I was happy with how they turned out!
Because the Thomas likes green and Sup liked blue I did a blue and green curtain. With the dinosaur boarders matching it does looks nice in their room. Sup was very happy to have his blue one done :)

Sup's vegetables

Unless Sup is really preoccupied with something he really likes to help me set the table for dinner. Over the last month or two he has gotten pretty good at it, and has been a big help to me.
I am not sure if he was trying to be funny or playing a trick on me, but he said he took care of putting the vegetables on the table. As with any meal I always try to have a vegetable as an option, somedays they eat them others not so much. So when I looked to see what was on the table this was our vegetables for dinner! My little carrot scrubber and my tomato container. While that was not our only veggies, we did keep them on the table that night for dinner :)

The finished product

The following Sunday the boys were finally well and we had just one more level to go so it went pretty fast.
After Eric and I finished the Death Star it was time to put on figures. The boys were most excited about the figures, so after we got them all laid out Thomas and I had to think about were we wanted them all placed.
Sup wasn't too far behind and wanted his turn to help with the figures as well. So we pulled up another chair and let him help out as well. It was fun to have everyone help with this project. After we got everything put in place, we let the boys play with it for a few minutes. It really has a lot of fun interactive components to it.
On line I think it said it would take someone 48 hours to build the set. If I counted all of our hours right, including the sorting it took us about 31 hours! It was a fun family project :)

Death Star continues

The Sunday that Sup was really sick, Eric and I were really worried about him and needed to something else to occupy our minds.
Since we still had a lot of time and pieces to work on our Death Star, we thought that continuing with it would be a good distraction. After Sup seemed to be resting more comfortably, we opened our table and took out all the bowls and cups that were filled with all the pieces.
As we started to work on it for another round it seemed that it was getting a little easier. At the beginning, even with all the sorting finding the pieces can take a lot of time. So about 7 hours later we were able to get the second layer completed!

Poor baby

After Thomas rested on Monday he was good to go back to school and really got by pretty good. Two days later Sup got hit and he was hit pretty hard. This boy has energy to burn and he goes pretty much from the time he opens his eyes in the morning to the time he closes his eyes at night.
Wednesday morning after I took Thomas to school he wanted to go and cuddle with Daddy. So he went in and slept for about two hours. When he woke up he stumbled out of the room and wanted to just lay on the couch. I thought "umm this is not good". As I laid him down by me he was very warm..temp was about 103. After trying to get some fluids in gave him some medicine he was out again. His temp was at least down to a manageable 100. That evening came the vomiting, luckily only lasted til the early hours of the morning. That night Sup and I slept in the guest room and trying to keep fluids and keep his temp controlled. That morning Eric noticed his left eye was really red....
Now the poor kid had pink eye on top of everything else. Saturday his fever finally broke but his eye looked horrible and he was pretty much sleeping, if he wasn't sleeping he was just lying on the couch watching Disney but really not interested in the shows. And trying to get drops in this child was like a torture chamber for him. By Sunday he had the pink eye in both eyes and had all the cold symptoms and because of all the goop in his eyes couldn't even open his eyes. It was like they were glued shut. Trying to let me try to wipe his eyes was almost as bad to him as the drops. Eric and I were pretty exhausted and missed out little energetic Sup. Thankfully by Monday we started to see a turning point. He was telling us he "just wants to be healthy again". He was still sleeping a lot but when he woke up I could see that little bit of life coming back in his eyes. The red was going down and looking a lot better and the goop was not as bad. I think it was Wednesday before we started to see our healthy Sup again. And I think Friday before he got out of his jammies. So after missing school of a week and a half he was good to go back the following Tuesday.

It starts with Thomas...

The middle and end of January was pretty rough for our family. I was hoping to get a way with just a few colds for the winter but it wasn't the case. Starting the evening of Jan 13th Thomas was the first one to get sick.
Luckily out of the four of us Thomas was the one who seemed to bounce back the fastest. A few hours after we got home from church his tummy started not feeling well. After a few times to the bathroom he had an early night without incident and thankfully no fever. He had a rest day on Monday and stayed home from school. It was very clear that he was to rest and not a stay home and play day. Sup decided that he would be his caretaker for the day. He watched over him all day and was happy to get him things to drink and eat. It was very sweet how well he did with Thomas and getting him better :)

The end of snow

Because of the warmer weather we had at the beginning of the year it didn't take long for the snow to melt. The boys had made a giant snowball in the back yard and it was their mission to take it down.
When Thomas came home from school they ran to the back yard and got to work destroying the snowball. At first they were gentle and used the little rakes and shovels and let the little shavings of snow hit the ground.
After a while that was taking too long and they were determined to take the snowball down. They had the thought that since Christmas was over it was time for winter to be over as well. And if they were able to get rid of all the snow winter and the cold would be gone and spring would come. Trying to explain that winter would still be here a while didn't seem to click in. So at the end they were jumping on it and more rough with it, poor snowball didn't stand a chance with these two ;)
