Coming home

Really by the next day I was ready to come home, but Olivia needed a blood test and she had to be at least 48 hrs old before they could take it. I could have just brought her back but the hospital suggest you stay and rest for a little longer.
When Thursday rolled around we were ready to go! It was nice in the morning the staff was able to get a lot of my discharge stuff done so all we needed was the blood work done and we were headed out the door :)
For Christmas Eric had picked out the cute little outfit for her to come home in. It was good it came with a hat because it was a bitter cold afternoon.
The boys were so excited to have both me and the baby home. And with it being a short drive we were there pretty quick :) The boys had made us a sign that was hanging up in the kitchen that said "Welcome Home Mommy and Olivia!" and decorated with stickers and drawings :)

Recovery

After all the excitement of the labor and delivery it was time to rest and enjoy our new sweet baby girl. The hospital was pretty busy as well so we had to wait until about eight in the evening to be moved to out recovery room.
The hospital experience here was really really nice and we all had a positive experience here:) It also had a nice big room with with comfy queen size beds. A much added plus compared to the uncomfortable hospital beds.
The staff was also very nice and for the most part left you alone, with is a big bonus in my book. Because I didn't take any pain meds after the birth I really only seen the nurses when they changed shifts and in the morning when they came in to check my vitals.
The boys really enjoyed climbing up on the bed next to me and holding and enjoying their new baby sister.
Because Thomas was at school most of the two days I was there he would come up and spend the evenings with us. Eric would take the boys home and get them ready for the next day and stay at home with them while Kris stayed up at the hospital with me. It was so nice having her there with me to help with the baby at night so I could rest a little bit and recover from the delivery.
The last evening I was there the hospital gives you and your family a little birthday party to celebrate your new addition. They brought us a little cake and some drinks so we could have a little birthday party for our Olivia :) The boys thought it was pretty exciting!
