First day of Pre-K

It was nice that Sup didn't start school until after labor day. It gave him a chance to get up earlier with Thomas and me a chance to get use of the school routine again.
Since it was the same same class and teachers he didn't really have anything new to get use to. On his first day he was really excited to go back to school. He was up and ready to go by the time I got back taking Thomas to school.
The first day the teachers come out and take the kids to their class, but Sup went right in and was the first one down the hallway. So far he is still doing well and still enjoys going. He is still working on his writing skills but he can write his name pretty well at this point all by himself :) He is pretty proud of that :)

Family craft day

The first few weeks of September we had some pretty hot days. Eric and I thought about doing a little weekend trip but I still wasn't feeling great, so Eric came up with having a craft weekend.
Since it was too hot to do much outside we thought we would take some of the money we would use on a trip and get some fun craft things that we could all work on. This way we could all work together on something fun and be a fun family activity.
Finding something that the boys could work mostly independently was not too hard and they were excited to try them out. They first worked on a little mosaic thing. They had a few different patterns to chose from but both went with the T-Rex. Everything was numbered and they just had to take the little foam sticky squares and put them on the number and color on the T-Rex board. It worked really well and they boys did great with it.
Not that I don't have multiple projects that I could have worked on, but I wanted to try to make a little baby quilt. Sup came with me and picked out the fabric (big surprise that it had little baby alligators on it) and I came up with a pretty simple design. I didn't finish it that weekend but I can say that it's all done now :) And came out pretty nice.
When Eric was cleaning up some of the things downstairs he came across a tub with his Warhammer guys in it. I can say I was not familiar with them at all until we got married and can still say my knowledge is rather limited. It was fun going to the hobby shop and hoping that I got the right stuff, thankful the store has been really helpful. So he got some new guys to put together and paint.
The other thing I got the boys was a bead craft. I found this bead books that you can put the clear bead holder on and then match the beads with the pattern in the book. They each got a book and picked out what they wanted to make. Thomas did really well with it but Sup had a hard time with the smaller beads, so Daddy helped him out. After all the beads were on I ironed them and they were good to go!

Starting soccer

This fall Eric and I decided to let Thomas try out soccer. I must admit I was a little hesitant because I didn't know if I wanted the added stress of getting him to and from practices and games. But Thomas really wanted to try it out and Eric thought it would be good for him.
After some thought I too thought it would be a good experience and we went ahead and signed Thomas up for a fall soccer league. It was rather inexpensive and the time commitment wasn't bad at all.
Thomas was really excited to go and all we needed to get were shin guards. But we did go ahead a get him a green soccer ball that he could practice with. He was really happy to get both and would put on his shinguards and ask us to kick him, so he could tell us it didn't hurt at all ;)
He was always happy to go and it was nice for Eric and I to go and watch him twice a week for about an hour and enjoy sometime outside as well.
