The first few weeks of September we had some pretty hot days. Eric and I thought about doing a little weekend trip but I still wasn't feeling great, so Eric came up with having a craft weekend.
Since it was too hot to do much outside we thought we would take some of the money we would use on a trip and get some fun craft things that we could all work on. This way we could all work together on something fun and be a fun family activity.
Finding something that the boys could work mostly independently was not too hard and they were excited to try them out. They first worked on a little mosaic thing. They had a few different patterns to chose from but both went with the T-Rex. Everything was numbered and they just had to take the little foam sticky squares and put them on the number and color on the T-Rex board. It worked really well and they boys did great with it.
Not that I don't have multiple projects that I could have worked on, but I wanted to try to make a little baby quilt. Sup came with me and picked out the fabric (big surprise that it had little baby alligators on it) and I came up with a pretty simple design. I didn't finish it that weekend but I can say that it's all done now :) And came out pretty nice.
When Eric was cleaning up some of the things downstairs he came across a tub with his Warhammer guys in it. I can say I was not familiar with them at all until we got married and can still say my knowledge is rather limited. It was fun going to the hobby shop and hoping that I got the right stuff, thankful the store has been really helpful. So he got some new guys to put together and paint.
The other thing I got the boys was a bead craft. I found this bead books that you can put the clear bead holder on and then match the beads with the pattern in the book. They each got a book and picked out what they wanted to make. Thomas did really well with it but Sup had a hard time with the smaller beads, so Daddy helped him out. After all the beads were on I ironed them and they were good to go!
