Goose chasing

When we went to park They have a small pond at the front. There are always geese and ducks waiting for you to come down and give them a little treat. Well we didn't have any thing to give them but this one goose came right up and decided to hang around to see if we had anything. After a while he got the message and started to find a new place. Well Sup thought this goose was so neat he wasn't ready for it to leave so he tried to have it come back.
For those who have had geese or been around them may think this was a little crazy but this particular goose seemed to have a good attitude. He never got mean and didn't seem to mind Sup.

After a while I think the goose was ready for some time to himself and said goodbye to Sup and was off to the pond for a swim.

Craft day

Since it was kind of a rainy day Sunday so we decided to have a craft day. After we got home from church and had a snack Eric and I got out the things we wanted to work on for the afternoon. I got some of my sewing stuff out and Eric got some of his warhammer guys out to paint. Of course Thomas wanted to paint one too. And to no surprise his color of choice was green ;)

Daddy's tools

This weekend Eric worked on building a bookshelf/stairs for the boy's room. So he was able to use his drill press. He let boys try it out as well. I think they all had fun experience with it :)

Thomas was able to use the glasses so he was able to use the laser that is on the drill press. He thought he was big stuff.

He was able to drill to holes in his piece of wood.

After Sup got up from his nap Daddy helped him drill some holes with the drill press as well.

He thought he was a pretty big boys using Daddy's tools.

Let's recycle ;)

So after over a year of living here I finally was able to get a recycle bin. Although I am not sure if they will take what's in it if I set it out like this ;)

Getting dressed

Sup and I go through a whole routine just about everyday. Getting dressed in the morning and pj's in the evening. After he is down to just his diaper his gets up and runs away and finds a place to "hide". Its is usually his bed or this chair in our family room. Some days I have more patients then others. But it seems Sup never gets tired of this.

Fishing with Aunt Sara

A few weeks ago when my sister came to visit and got the boys fishing polls for their birthdays. Although they had lots of fun "fishing" in the house we decided to take them to the park where they have a little pond. They both had a lot of fun, they did catch anything but their little rubber fish they had tied at the end but they where happy with that :)

Warhammer guys

A few days ago a new grocery store opened up in our area and I was excited to check it out. We all went a day after it opened but with my boys I was not able to see all that I wanted to see. So the other day Eric offered to keep the boys so that I could go back and take my time looking and seeing what they had. I know it seems weird but I love going to grocery stores and this was a more speciality store so I was excited to take the offer.

Now I usually take the phone with me so that I could keep track of time but it was charging so I left without it. Lets just say I was gone for longer then I intended to be. When I got home I was surprised to see that Eric got his warhammer guys (I am not sure exactly what they are but you paint them yourself and play a game with them) out for the boys to see. They were so excited to see them and show me all the colorful guys. And they boys where very careful with them. After they set up their "army" they just wanted to lay and admire them. It was very cute :)

Sup's Toad

A few days ago we took the boys on a bike ride down by the river. There is a bridge at the end of the path that has benches and train tracks near by. We often make that our rest stop to have some snacks and drink and let the boys run around on the bridge since there on the bike path where we don't have to worry about traffic. The last couple times we have stopped their has been trains that go by and with our boys we must watch it go by.

We went a little later then normal and down by the bridge Eric found a toad. Thomas liked the toad but didn't seem to impressed by it. Sup on the other hand didn't want to let it go.

We decided that we would take it home and let it go in our garden so that he could eat the bugs. So we took it home in a little box. When we got home Sup still didn't want to let him go, we let him hold him for a little longer. He was pretty gentle with him and decided it was his toad. Eventually we did get him to let the toad go in the strawberries.

Picking berries with Daddy

Our raspberries are starting to get ripe enough to eat and the boys are so excited! Every day they go out and look at the bushes to see if they can be eaten yet. Well this week Eric took them and helped the boys pick and eat all the ripe ones :)

They have been watching these berries very close and could hardly wait until Daddy got home to help them pick 'em.
I am not sure why I even bothered with the basket.... not a single one made it in. They barley made it to Daddy's hand before they were snatched up and eaten.

Lets read!

At the beginning of the week we went up to the library to get some new books. I had forgotten about the summer reading program that started at the end of May. So while we were there I got the boys signed up. They were able to pick out their own books and color a picture while they were there for signing up for the program.
They also have a library locator's game. If you visit all the different branch's you get a pin of different counties flags from around the world. They were so excited to pick out there pin while we where there. I am sure we will be visiting the others to collect more.

When we got home the boys were so excited to look at and start "reading" their new books. Thomas loves to sit and "read" his books. If he has heard the story before he will base his story off the story as he remembers it. If he hasn't heard the story he'll look at the pictures and make up a story, he has a very good imagination.
After they got settled in on the couch, Thomas opened his books and read his stories to Sup. It was very cute. They sat and read/listened to the stories for quite a while very happy and content.

Beach fun

We had a lot of fun at the beach. it was the first time for the boys and the first time for me and Eric in years. Thomas did really well with it and loved the water and the gentle waves. Sup on the other hand was a little unsure. He did like sitting just on the shore and playing with the sand.

We came well prepared for the afternoon, with sunscreen, snacks and drinks. So we were able to spend all afternoon at the beach and had a great time.

Thomas loved playing with the beach ball and was very good at keeping track of it so it didn't get away.

My Gramma had gotten the boys some beach/sand toys for their birthdays. We brought the along with us and Sup had so much fun with them.

I think Sup's favorite thing to do was smash sand creations :)

Biking and picnic

After we let the turtle go we were off on the bike trails around Patoka Lake. They had some really nice trails along with the nice hills...fun to go down not so fun to go up. After a while on the trails we stopped a a really nice pavilion that was surrounded by a big field.

We we let the boys out of the carrier, they were ready to run in the big open field. It was a boys dream. There were some birds that they chased while we got the stuff ready for lunch.

They came over to eat for a few minutes and more or less grab something and go run. So Eric and I were able to have somewhat of a quiet lunch :)

There were a lot of butterflies and bugs that were in the field and they just loved to run and chase them all...all three of my boys ;)

After lunch we were back on the trails. We found the beach at the end and decided to bike back to the truck and spend the afternoon at the beach. It took us a while to bike back, and with all the running around at lunch it seems our little ones needed a nap before the beach.

Friend at Patoka

On Saturday we wanted to something fun as a family so we took a drive up to Patoka Lake. We took a picnic lunch, our bikes, and our swim stuff and made a day of it. We were almost to the park entrence when Eric noticed a turtle at the side of the road. He picked it up and we headed to the park to start our bike ride. While we were getting everything ready the boys got a kick out of the turtle.

The poor thing stayed in its shell for a long time while the boys stood over him waiting for him to come out and say hello.

He finally got brave enough and starting moving around which made the boys very happy and excited.

I think they got a little too excited for the turtle because he went back into his shell. The boys thought maybe he was hungry. At first they tried feeding him the rocks...not too temping to the turtle. So they found a tree and thought the leaf would be a better idea.

We wanted to let it go by the lake but it got a little too scared in the child carrier so we let him go in the bushes :)

Smores

Of course you can't have a campfire dinner without smores! This of course was the highlight for the boys this is what they waited for all day. They did really well with the fire and we let it burn down so there were just the coals, the best way to toast ;)

After I got them set with their marshmallows, Daddy was over to help them get the perfect toast.

Sup got a little sticky eating them but he enjoyed it :)

They have all different flavors of marshmallows these days so I picked up a bag of strawberry marshmallows. They were so yummy! Thomas wanted to try the pink marshmallows and he stated that this was "the perfect smore". He roasted and assembled it all by himself.

Camping at home

After a hard 12 days we wanted to have fun this weekend. So Friday evening we got the fire pit out and had a little taste of camping in our back yard. We got our long camping forks out and the boys wanted to roast some hot dogs and Eric wanted tinfoil dinners. So I got everything ready for the dinners and Eric helped the boys with their hot dogs.

Eric did a great job preparing everything for safety so we didn't have any mishaps.

Thomas was sooo excited to roast his own hot dog! He had a little help from Daddy because we were dealing with fire, but he did a good part by himself and he was very proud that he cooked it all by himself.

Sup of course likes to do anything that Thomas does so he wanted to try roasting his own as well. He being only two needed more help from Daddy. Although he too was proud of himself too :)

We just had to warm up our tinfoil dinners on the fire and enjoyed our little "camping dinner" on our blanket together. It was a great idea!

140 hours later

So Eric and I have had a tough 2 weeks. Eric's manager at work got sick and was out for the last two weeks. Since he was sick and Eric is the only other assistant he had to cover all the shifts. So these past 12 days he has worked a total of about 140 hours. It was hard on everyone and the boys missed him very much. So on Friday he was able to be home by early afternoon and had the weekend off. We wanted to have a fun and relaxing weekend.

A few weeks ago we got this little fire pit for the patio and the boys helped Daddy put it together. They had a lot of fun being with Daddy and helping him put together the fire pit.

 We're ready for marshmallows!
