It has been rather warm this past week so our outside time comes after dinner in the evening. It has been really nice since it doesn't get dark until around 8:30. The last few days we have noticed that the fireflies have started to come out. Last night the boys had so much fun chasing them around and trying to catch them.
I was pretty amazed when Thomas actually caught one all by himself. He was very excited to show me his catch. I think he may have done something to its wing because it had trouble flying after the catch.
Because it couldn't really fly it would crawl up and down their arms and light up. This made their whole night they played with the poor bug for a long time.
They were really careful with it but at some point we needed to let it go. So we put it on a bush so it could "go home and be with his family".
So much fun! I totally miss the fireflies! They don't have them here. We took Bill and Lola to Antelope island and saw a huge snake on the road! I knew Thomas would have loved that. I also knew he or his Dad would have gotten it and scared me to death.
