With our garden's this year Eric and I decided to split them up so that we are responsible for different beds and plants. Of course this has provided an opportunity to have a little competition between the two of us and a little bet between us. Although we haven't decided how it is going to be judged on who had the better garden....
Any how Eric has the strawberry and raspberry beds along with all the tomatoes (they are in the hanging baskets). I have the beds around the patio that have bell peppers, herbs, green beans and peas in them. I also have the bed in the front of the house which has all types of lettuce, carrots, radishes, and a zucchini plant. It seems a little weird to have a garden bed in front but it actually looks nice and we don't have a big backyard and the front we put in a nice bed around the house so there was more space.
It has worked out really nice because we both like to brag about our gardens and how well they are doing. Well Eric has had a little trouble with the birds getting his strawberries. So he found this sprinkler that we got the boys last year and thought it would make a good scarecrow. (There is a hook up in the back for the hose and the water comes out from the top) I got a good laugh out of it so we will see how well it works for keeping the birds out.
So did the scarecrow work for Eric or is your garden winning? What was the bet? More OJ or lemonade?
