Making bricks

Later in the afternoon we wanted to stop at the brick making shop. The both of the boys seemed to really like this stop, but Thomas was very interested and gave his full attention to how and what they made the bricks out of. Not something he does often!

Maybe if Thomas lived back in the day here in Nauvoo, I think he would have taken up the brick business!

Sup was more interested in the stuff they past around. The clay rock he didn't want to let go and had it throughout the presentation.

The mush (I can't remember the name) they made to make the bricks he wasn't so impressed with. As you can see he still has the rock, which was still the highlight for him.

At the end each family was able to take home a Nauvoo souvenir brick. Thomas was so excited to get his very own brick. He made sure to take all the reading material they had on brick making as well.
Eric's mom and dad were kind enough to let Sup have their brick, this way each boy had a brick. Now the big task was to make sure they didn't throw it at each other. A bigger task then I would like to admit!

  1. Ya I could totally see them throwing them at each other. But hopefully they will just look at them and not think about throwing them. And luckily Sup did give up the "rock". I thought he might want to keep that instead. Fun times.

  2. I think they called the mushy stuff "pug".
