Goodbye car

Back in April we started to have some problems with our yellow car. After having things looked at we had to come to a decision on whether we put money into an old car or put money into a new car.
After looking at our options and prices we decided to trade in our yellow car and get a new car. We could still get a pretty good trade in price as it was and then we would have a reliable car. Honestly I hated this car so deciding to get rid of it was nice.
Before we headed to the dealership we needed to clean it out and get everything out of it. The boys said goodbye to it and I headed to the dealership and the boys followed in the truck.
While I was finishing up some paperwork Eric and the boys headed over to a nature park near by to get some wiggles out. The boys were really good as Eric and I sat and filled out the mounds of paperwork you have to do, so they were more then ready to burn a little energy.

My birthday gift

Eric and I really do not have a chance to go out and eat very often with just the two of us. With his work schedule and the boys it is just hard to work around. So for my birthday gift this year he decided to make me a special dinner all by himself.
We got the boys some happy meals and set them up in our front room to have a "picnic" and a movie. Then Eric started dinner and I got ready for dinner. Just because we were not going out didn't mean that we couldn't get all dressed up like we were :)
So after we got all fancy we put on some music danced a little and had a nice romantic dinner at home. It was really great the dinner was amazing and I didn't have to cook or clean up! The boys loved their picnic and it was nice to for me just to sit back and enjoy my amazing dinner! It was a perfect gift :)

Spring

It seems that we had a longer winter and the spring weather took its time getting here. As a result planting anything was later.
A couple of years ago we put in these front beds. We had a little trouble with the trees roots and had to do some maintenance and this year we decided to put some color in our front yard.
After a few trips to the stores we picked up a variety of flowers and had the boys pick out what they wanted and headed home to plant them.
The boys were very excited to to plant the flowers and were pretty good helpers in planting. After some mulch they looked really nice and added some nice curb appeal to our house.

It's been a while...

So I haven't been doing very well at posting this summer. It has been a little bit of a crazy summer and our blog has long been forgotten. I had a dilemma on where to start things back up. The last post was written in May but I our trip to Nashville was back in the end of February/beginning of March. And we have had a some fun things to share from then to now. So I decided to keep things in order and try to get caught up.
So i'll rewind to Easter ;) We had a lot of fun for our Easter. We had family come down for the week and I think everyone had a good time with one another. Sadly I have never dyed Easter eggs with my boys. So this year with a few more kiddos we went ahead and dyed a lot of them ;) I think we made up for past years. I can't remember exactly how many we did but I think it was around 4 dozen.
The boys wanted to try to catch the Easter bunny so Saturday night...with Daddy's help....they set one out. They were not successful but the bunny did leave a chocolate bunny for them ;)
Again I have not been very good at Easter baskets either, but like the eggs I really tried to get them together this year. We did a combo of candy and small little toys/games. I think all in all they were pretty happy.
Sup was very excited about he's big blue eggs. We had picked up some little alligators to put in them, so he was a pretty happy boy :)
After we got home from church and getting dinner ready we decided to do our Easter egg hunt. We used the ones we had dyed earlier. We had the kids label their egg so they knew what to look for. My brother-in-law kindly volunteered to be the Easter bunny and hid them well.
We made sure to keep count so they were all found :) We didn't want to leave an egg to stink outside :{ After they were found we made our way inside for a yummy meal.
