Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark

After our Air Force Museum and lunch we still had the evening to do some other things around Dayton. My bother-in-law found this warehouse store where they sell just about anything. Some of it was used stuff and others were still new and unused and this was the place they shipped it to if they were not able to sell it at their own stores. It was huge and had a lot of interesting things.
After the warehouse we thought it would be fun to take the kids to some kind of park to play and have some fun. After looking at Google and where there was a place not too far from where we were and the hotel I had found a place that looked pretty fun, Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark.
It actually turned out to be a really good find! They had a Children's Discovery Garden which was really cool and had a ton of fun things for all the kids to do. It still was the beginning of April, April 4th to be exact, so a few of the things were not open, and the flowers and shrubs were just starting to bloom. But it was nice because the kids could run around and play.
They had a music maze, little wooden bridges, ponds, a cave with fossils in it, and a little tunnel that lead to a secret garden and with seven kids they were able to play all kinds of fun games, it was a big hit. I think the kids could have played a lot longer if they could.
Around the back of the children's garden was a path that led around the park and had other plant life to see. So we took a stroll around to see what other fun things we could find. Toward the end we were able to find a ton of salamanders! I think just about every kid was able to find one and hold one. They really had a lot of fun with these little creatures and was another highlight of the park.
