Since we had so much fun with our black walnuts we thought we would go and collects some more to harvest, and have a fun family activity.
Eric and I have become pretty good at recognizing what black walnut trees look like so we headed over to a park not too far from our home. The trees only drop nuts every other year so not every tree we spotted had the walnuts. We were able to find about three different trees and the boys were ready and happy to help collect.
It is amazing how fast we filled up our bags. We probably collected around two hundred more nuts to harvest.
After our collection we thought we would let the boys have some fun on the play gym at the park. We had a fun and productive day :)
I bet they were great collectors. Good job with your work crew - they probably even thought it was fun!
