Making fossil casts

Thomas was much more willing to do his summer school work them Sup. And many times Thomas actually wanted to do more. If he was reading a story and was interested in the story he would ask if he could read longer and he also asked if he could add other subjects.
He really likes to do science and social study type things so for this I actually found the scout book to be very handy. This way he could earn his requirements for his different badges and I had a pretty nice resource I could go to for some fun ideas.
As with the earlier post I mentioned that one of the elective belt loops that he wanted to work on was digging in the past. This section had a lot of fun things that Thomas was really interested in doing. I had planned on doing some kind of scout thing twice a week but Thomas wanted to do it more so it ended up being about 4 times a week.
With this one he had to make a fossil cast. We ended up using plaster and some dinosaur toys for the imprints. He did really good with it and was able to make some fun fossil cast. He mixed up the plaster and poured them into the molds and then put his imprint in it. We let the toy in the plaster for a little bit but before it got hard we pulled it out and the imprint looked great and we didn't have any stuck toys : )
