We were able to make pretty good time and made it to the campground with plenty of times and light to set up camp. Smokemont is more on the eastern part of the park so we were able to drive through a good part of the park to get to our destination.
After we checked in the kids were so excited to be done with driving and happy to help with the tent and unload the stuff we needed. We got a few new camp chairs and Livvy was really excited to have her own little chair.
As Eric and I were doing a few other things we let the kids play around. One of the things that we picked for a Christmas gift for the boys was a little outdoor bowling set. We got it to put with our camping things so they were able to test it out on our trip. It was a lot of fun and a good little game of them to play with.
For dinner we had walking tacos. We were going to have them in the chip bag but we thought that Olivia would have a hard time with that. Since she likes to be like everyone else we went with walking tacos in a bowl.
After eating dinner and getting everything all cleaned up we headed over to the river to see if there was a good spot to play in the water. Since the river goes right into the campground. It was just a short walk from our campsite.
The was was a little cold an Olivia preferred just to get her feet wet. The boys tried to be a little more adventurous but they didn't get too wet either. There were lots of rocks to find and look at and the boys had fun finding some treasures.
After we got back from playing in the river we headed back to the campsite to have dessert. We wanted to see if we make a big cookie in our dutch oven. We put it in and in 15 mins we had a nice big golden warm chocolate chip cookie. It was a big hit and none went to waste!
