Every year for our Halloween activity for church our ward has a trunk-or-treat. If it is not wet and the weather is nice it is held out on a members farm. It is a wonderful fall place and we have had a fun time each year that we have attended. It was in the early afternoon so the boys got there costumes (Prime and Bumblebee) and we headed out to the farm.
It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny and probably in the mid 60's. After we parked we took the hay ride up to the activity. As everyone was visiting and getting stuff ready for lunch the boys decided to try the cupcake walk. This took a little bit of prodding but in the end they were both happy with the prize of a cupcake:)
For lunch they all different kinds of chili for a chili cook off. They also had hot dogs they roasted on the open fire and each family was asked to bring a side dish to pass so there was plenty to choose from. I actually did remember to bring our picnic blanket but of course I left it in the truck. So we found a spot of grass and the boys didn't seem to mind.
After lunch they had cookie decorating for all the kids. Thomas was one of the first kids to make his way to the picnic table and got right into the decorating his cookie.
After Sup seen Thomas with his cookie he wanted to give it a try. Although his attention span didn't really make it past the frosting. If you have seen previous post and know Sup his love for frosting/cream is very high, so once he saw the big blob of icing he was done with the decor. Funny kid I did help him out with the decoration but when it came to eating he ate all the icing off the top and gave me the cookie and said "all done mommy!"
Of course the most exciting part of the activity is getting candy from the cars. After cleaning up everyone made their way back to where they had us park for the truck-or-treat. Eric took the boys around while I passed out the candy from our truck. The boys were so excited to get all their candy and very protective of their buckets. I don't think they willing let go of them and certainly didn't need any help with carrying them.
Sup is such a funny kid. I love how he likes the frosting and stuff and then gives you the inside stuff. Looks like it was a fun time.
