Our Christmas Eve

Eric and I decided that we would have a low key and relaxing Christmas Eve. I had to do a little grocery shopping for our Christmas Eve snacks and Christmas dinner so I had to get dressed but the rest of the family was able to stay in their jammies.
We thought it would be fun to have some yummy and fun Christmas Eve snacks/appetizers for dinner that night. Sup was very excited to try all the yummy food. I had made mini pigs in a blanket but the kids just took off the blanket and ate the mini hot dog. I also picked up green and red tortilla chips...Thomas would only eat greens ones and the red ones "tasted bad". We also thought that we would give the boys a chance to try a special Christmas drink..aka eggnog (Thomas does not like eggs so if he had heard eggnog I probably wouldn't have been able to get him to even try it) Like their mommy neither one like the eggnog.
Before we started our night with watching our line up of Christmas movies we had to make cookies for Santa. Thomas wanted to make chocolate chip cookies, so that is what we made Santa. Sup was a little restless so he helped a little bit but was more around to eat the batter and the finished product. Thomas on the other hand..with a little help..made the cookies.
We can't make chocolate chip cookies without eating a little bit of the batter and like Mommy and Daddy both of the boys share that desire. This is what Sup was patiently waiting for as well, so he was right there ;)

After the cookies were cooked and cooled Thomas got his Santa plate and loaded it up with his cookies. Sup was more interested in just eating the cookies rather then putting them on the plate to give away. So he would sneak up when Thomas wasn't looking and hurry and grab two cookies...one for each hand of course ;)
Excited for Santa to come he placed his cookies by the tree and insisted that we turn on the trees so Santa knew where his cookies and milk were placed. They were very excited that night, but as we curled up on the couch together and watched our favorite Christmas movies they happily dozed off to sleep.

  1. Sup is so funny! He'll want to share with Santa one day :-) And Thomas is such a sweet boy to want to make sure Santa could find the cookies! Great traditions! Good job guys!
